SPCWD HAS A NEW DIRECTOR

San Pablo City - A former city fiscal representing professional sector was appointed director of San Pablo City Water District (SPCWD) by Mayor Vicente B. Amante in a simple ceremony held at the city hall compound here yesterday.

Besting many nominees among professional groups, the choice was narrowed down to Fiscal Gerry Ilagan due to his meritorious performance as city prosecutor until his retirement late last year, and the first nomination so far from San Pablo Bar Association for the 35 years existence of the water district. Doctors and engineers have the most appointees in SPCWD’s history.

A true blooded blue eagle, Ilagan graduated from Ateneo de Manila University College of Law in 1966 and passed the bar exams the following year. He served as legal counsel of SPCWD during its formative years in 1974 until he joined Department of Justice (DOJ) as assistant regional prosecutor for Southern Tagalog and subsequently city fiscal in 2002.

The former fiscal was happily married to Hildeliza Resurrecion of Tiaong, Quezon. They are blessed with three sons and a daughter all of whom are professional. The eldest, Arvin is an Anesthesiologist; Fr. Clarence, a secular priest; Hazel, a Pharmacist while the youngest Wendell is a DOJ prosecutor assigned in Quezon.

Fiscal Ilagan retroactively assumed his position as member of the Board of Directors January 1, 2009 for a term of six (6) years vice Dr. Rody Estiva.

Other members of the Board of Directors of SPCWD are Lerma Prudente, representing women sector; Dan Ambray, civic groups; Eleuterio Amante, Business; Armando Lozada, education and a representative from Local Water Utilities Administration.(NANI CORTEZ/ Pres. Seven Lakes Press Corps)
