San Pablo City - The new police chief of San Pablo City Police Station (SPCPS) didn’t promised anything upon assumption in office during the simple turn-over ceremony here yesterday as witnessed by provincial police and local government officials with force multipliers and council of elders in attendance.

However P/Supt Raul L. Bargamento made a pledge to duplicate if not surpass the extra-ordinary performance of the police station under the leadership of outgoing COP P/Supt Joel C. Pernito who was transferred to Biñan Municipal Police Station.

The SPCPS flag of command was turned-over by Laguna PPO Provincial director P/S Supt Manolito Labrador to incoming COP P/Supt Bargamento who incidentally is a batch mate of P/Supt Pernito in PNPA Class ’91.

An expert in risk management and intelligence monitoring, Bargamento was assigned in Recom 9 comprising the provinces of Sulo, Basilan and Tawi-Tawi immediately upon graduation for a period of eight years, then at GHQ Camp Crame until he was tapped by United Nations on its Kosovo peacekeeping missions.

The new COP had a 5 year stint at PDEA from 2002 to 2007, Intelligence Chief of Rizal PPO and lately Chief of Police of Antipolo City prior taking the helm of SPCPS.

He is married to P/Supt Mary Ann Bargamento assigned in Region 3, with whom he has three children, 2 girls and a baby boy, aging nine, seven and one year old.

City Administrator Amben Amante warmly welcomed Supt. Bargamento and assured the police official all out support from the local government. Immediately thereafter the new police chief proceeded to the office of the City Mayor and made courtesy call to Mayor Vicente B. Amante. (nani cortez/ pres. - seven lakes press corps)
