PRO CALABARZON saw another changing of the guard with the assumption of its newly designated Commander in simple rites held at the grounds of Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, December 22, 2008.PCSUPT PERFECTO P PALAD formally took the helm of the more than 7,000-strong police force in the region vice PCSUPT RICARDO I PADILLA who bowed out of the service upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56 years old.
PALAD, Batch mate of retired PCSUPT PADILLA PMA Class ’77, is the 43rd Commander of the unit which traces its roots to the post WWII era 2nd Philippine Constabulary Zone.
He was formerly the Deputy Regional Director for Operations of Police Regional Office 4A and is known for his strictness towards office work and no-nonsense attitude towards leadership and discipline. In his remarks, PALAD says that we have to pursue the Integrated Transformation Program of the PNP to have a credible and professional organization capable of providing quality service and security to the people against criminality and terrorism.
He made clear his intention to maintain the security and peace in the region (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and he also emphasized that he is part of the team that will work towards economic development in the region.
PALAD also called on the force multipliers to serve not only as friends and supporters but guardians in all the noble endeavors PRO CALBARZON intends to move forward to, under his leadership along the way expressing his hopes that media practitioners will support him and his men by living up to their commitment of reporting just, balanced and un-opinionated news.
Finally, PALAD warned criminal elements that his leadership means business and strongly cautioned them that the Armed Forces and the Police will work hand in hand in combating lawlessness and terrorism. They must stop or face the full force of the law.
The ceremonies was marked with a solemn note as the outgoing Regional Director was accorded Retirement Honors befitting an able Commander with various accomplishments and ribbons in his breast, witnessed by no less than PDG JESUS A VERZOSA, Chief of Philippine National Police, who also the Guest of Honor and Speaker, PCSUPT BENJAMIN A BELARMINO JR, Director of PNTI, PCSUPT LUISITO PALMERA, Regional Director PRO MIMAROPA, PSSUPT JOSELITO CASUGBO, Regional Director RIAS 4A, ATTY Yolanda S Lira, Regional Director NAPOLCOM 4A, DIR VICENTE TOMAZAR, the Regional Director, OCDIV-A, ARCHBISHOP RAMON C ARGUELLES, DD of Lipa CITY, Other PNP Senior Officers, PNP Ladies, CALABARZON NGOs/CVOs and other special guests.
