US AMBASSADOR VISITS QUEZON

Tiaong, Quezon – A warm welcome greeted United States Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. on his arrival for a visit on the invitation of a Fulbright scholar here this morning.

On hand to meet the ambassador were Quezon Governor Jayjay Suarez, Mayor Rederick S. Umali, Division of Schools Assistant Superintendent Aniano Ogayon, District Supervisor Elizabeth de Villa, Barangay officials, Lusacan National High School principal Juana V. Villaverde along with her teaching staff and students.

The ambassador was invited by Sammy Luces, an alumnus of the US Government funded International Leadership in Education Program of the Philippine-American Foundation (PAEF) that brings teachers around the globe to United States to learn the latest advancement in educational methodology and policy for development of leadership skills that will be helpful on the implementation and promotion of change in their respective schools and communities.

Luces who took the course at Kent State University was praised by Thomas for coming back as the scholar can conveniently stay at US for economic advancement yet chose to return teaching at LNHS.

Thomas also impart to students the importance of education and encouraged them to dream to get the job of their choice that will enable each one to climb greater heights. He also promised to facilitate a request to US-AID to promote education in Quezon in form of infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Suarez invited the ambassador to visit the province more often as he pledged LNHS an airconditioned classroom as part of his computer literacy advocacies in the school division of Quezon.
