San Pablo City - Thirteen (13) college students from the Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo (DLSP) bagged major awards from the recently concluded Regional Higher Education Press Conference for 2009-2010 last December 9-11 held at Batis Aramin Resort, Brgy. Malupak, Lucban, Quezon.
Certificate of Excellence were given to the following Individual categories: 2nd place- Editorial Writing/English & 4th place-Column Writing/Filipino (Vea Marie Torress); 2nd place-Editorial Writing/Filipino & 10th place-Special Contest in Digital Photography (Von Rein Prince Pasco) and 6th place-Newswriting/Filipino (Rommel Cagitla).
For the Group awards for Tabloid Category were Best Tabloid-9th place; Best Sportspage-6th place, Best Opinion/Editorial Page-8th place, Best News Page-9th place and Best Dev. Com. Page-10th place. For the Magazine Category were Best Feature Page-8th place, Best Page Design-9th place and Best Dev. Com. Page-10th place.
The said presscon conducted by the Association of Tertiary Press Advisers of Southern Tagalog with the theme “Responsible Campus Journalism: Invigorating the Essence of Genuine Democracy” were participated by more than 400 students from among 47 Colleges and Universities. (CIO-SPC)
